Annual Civil Society Dialogue Podcasts

If you missed the Fourth Annual Civil Society Dialogue on Women, Peace and Security; or would like to revisit one or all of the sessions, you can now listen to each of the sessions on Sound Cloud. You will see there are five ‘tracks’ in the set of podcasts. Each session has it’s own track.

The first track is the government response to the Interim Review. It is chaired by Ludmilla Kwitko. Panelists were:

• Colonel Brad Orchard, Director National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security, Australian Defence Force
• Ms Rachel Livingston,  Senior Advisor, Office for Women
• Ms Sally Moyle, Principal Sector Specialist, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
• Assistant Commissioner Scott Lee, National Manager International Operations, Australian Federal Police

The second track is the session on Iraq and Syria. The session was chaired by Susan Hutchinson. Panelists were:

• Ms Laura Grant, Senior Policy Advisor, Humanitarian, World Vision Australia
• Ms Natalya Wells, Policy & Political Affairs Officer, International Committee of the Red Cross
• Dr Katherine Mimilidis, Assistant Director- Humanitarian Policy and Partnerships, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The third track is the session on Bougainville. It was chaired by Greg Fry. Panelists were:

• Ms Isabel Koredong, Programme Coordinator, Bougainville Women’s Federation
• Ms Michele Rumsey, Director WHO Collaborating Centre, University of Technology Sydney
• Mr Charlie Jebb, Bougainville Unit Manager, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The fourth track is the session on emerging issues as well as the address by Bandana Rana, UN expert on the Committee of the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women. The emerging issues session was chaired by Gemma Muir. The track includes the brief presentations:

• Countering Violent Extremism – Associate Professor Laura Shepherd, University of New South Wales
• Displacement – Ms Chanelle Taoi, Legal Officer, UNHCR
• Humanitarian Response – Ms Jenny Lee,  Assistant Director- Women, Peace and Security, Australian Civil-Military Centre

The fifth track is the plenary evaluating the National Action Plan, and the concluding remarks by Anu Mundkur.
